It's time for our Garden Development Institute!

IT'S TIME!!

...for the Fall Community & School Garden Development Institute!

Thinking of growing together? The Community & school Garden Development
Institute is a series of practical and hands on sessions for groups
interested in starting and maintaining organic gardens in community
settings. The five Monday evening sessions of the Institute (October
16, 23, 30 November 6 and November 13 , from 6:30-9:30 pm) will cover
key aspects of developing and sustaining gardens, emphasizing how
your garden team can effectively
plan, start & maintain garden. Are you a part of a group ready to take
the plunge and start a garden? Head to www.growinghope.net to download
the applications for the class. Applications are due October 9th! We
strongly encourage phone calls in advance to talk about your groups
interest.

To qualify for the Institute interested groups must have at least 5
dedicated garden team members, at least 3 of who must attend all 4
Institute sessions. Groups can be neighborhood or community groups,
faith-based organizations, non-profit agencies or service clubs,
schools, groups of neighbors, or businesses.

Do you know of or are part of a group that would like to learn more
about what it takes to start a community or school garden? We'd love
to make a presentation about the Institute, Growing Hope, and community
gardens in general. Please get in touch!

Hope's Harvest THIS SUNDAY-- please join us!!!

Growing Hope Friends--

Only a few days left until our big annual fundraiser, Hope's Harvest, and there are tickets still available. Come one & come all! Last year's event was quite lovely, and this year's promises to be even better! The weather is forecasted to be beautiful and 80. Our great outdoor venue at Gladwin Barn in west Ann Arbor makes enjoying the local organic food prepared yummily by ZIngerman's, and tasting the fine wines of Everyday Wines, and enjoying pleasant company all around that much lovelier!

Please consider supporting us by coming out. Tickets are $50/person, of which $25 is a tax-deductible gift. Ultimately you're getting delicious food and wines for a reasonable $25-- a great deal! Tickets are available at Everyday Wines in Kerrytown Market & Shops, by giving us a hollar at Growing Hope at 786-8401, via credit card on our website at www.growinghope.net, or in front of the People's Food Co-op this Saturday morning from 9-11. Advance tickets required.

The event details:
Hope's Harvest

We also have just a precious few volunteer slots still to fill, which affords you free entry into the event-- you work half of it, and enjoy relaxing & eating & drinking the other half. If you want to snatch up a last slot, write to karen@growinghope.net right away.

AND, if you can't make it Sunday, you can still buy Raffle Tickets for just 3 for $5! The raffle drawing will be held at the event, but you need not be present to win. First prize: Dinner for two cooked in your home by a local chef, Second: Case of wine from Everyday Wines; 3rd: framed art print, and several more-- including $100 Whole Foods gift certificate, $60 REI gift certificate, a beautiful birdbath, and several others...
