Growing Gardens

Growing Hope's Growing Garden Programs:

  • Growing Gardens Membership:  Growing Gardens membership was designed to be a simple way for you to find the community, support and resouces you need to be a successful gardener.  You can join as an individual/household or as a group (for community gardens, school gardens, et al). 

  • Garden Leadership Training: Our Garden Leadership Training prepares teams to begin or grow their garden project, by focusing on project planning, community organizing, and site planning in this two-day course.

  • Seed Starting Squad: We provide the light stand set up & education to community volunteers engage in growing seedlings at home for themselves, neighbors, and Growing Hope. 2015 Seed Starting Squad is underway!  

  • Lending Library: Individual and Group Growing Gardens Members can check out tools, small equipment, books, and curricular materials.  As they become available, from time-to-time we donate other garden materials to Group Members.

  • Home Vegetable Garden Installation Program: Since 2009 we've been engaging low-and no-income families in installing raised bed vegetable gardens in their homes and apartments. In return we ask participants to track their harvest and complete surveys. We are actively recruiting for the 2015 season! 

  • Community Gardens: Growing Hope supports community, faith, school and learning gardens throughout Ypsilanti and Washtenaw County. If your garden becomes a Growing Garden group member you'll receive gardening support, networking opportunities and discounted services through Growing Hope.
