Growing Gardens

Growing Hope's Garden Programs:

  • Garden Leadership Training: Our Garden Leadership Training prepares teams to begin or grow their garden project, by focusing on project planning, community organizing, and site planning in a five weekcourse.

  • Seed Starting Squad: We provide the light stand set up & education to community volunteers engage in growing seedlings at home for themselves, neighbors, and Growing Hope. Seed Starting Squad will begin in March, so check back for more information!

  • Lending Library:   Individual and Group Growing Gardens Members can check out tools, small equipment, books, and curricular materials.  As they become available, from time-to-time we donate other garden materials to Group Members.

  • Raised Bed Vegetable Garden Program: Since 2009 we've been engaging low-and no-income families in installing raised bed vegetable gardens in their homes and apartments while providing tracking material.  Please contact us directly at 734-786-8401 or raisedbed@growinghope.net to see if this program is a good fit for you!  Space is limited.

  • Growing Gardens Membership for Groups and Individuals:  Growing Gardens is one way for individuals and groups in Washtenaw County to access gardening support. Member benefits include getting seeds and plants this spring, begin able to borrow garden tools and resources, and more! Keep an eye out for our 2012 Growing Gardens application, coming in February!

 

 

 

 

WE WANT TO HELP YOU GROW THIS YEAR!

Do you need seeds, seedlings, tools or more gardening knowledge or networking opportunities?

Growing Gardens is one way for individuals and groups in Washtenaw County access gardening support and engage in the Growing Hope gardening network, and it helps us support your gardening efforts.  This fall you can also shop for local vegetable and herb seedlings and raised bed kits with us at our stall at the Downtown Ypsilanti Farmers' Market!

Member benefits include getting seeds and plants this spring, begin able to borrow garden tools and resources, recieve a discount on classes, receive a regular newsletter and more!  Or, garden advocates may become a Friend of Growing Gardens and receive a subscription to our quarterly newsletter!

Annual membership fees range from $5-40 and are based on your ability to pay.  There are 2 basic payment levels of $20 or $40.  You may also request additional scholarship support and contribute a minimum of $5.
