Growing Hope is dedicated to helping people improve their lives and communities through gardening. Based in Washtenaw County, Michigan, we work with neighborhoods, schools, community groups, and families to develop and sustain gardens. We also work to increase local food security through our Downtown Ypsilanti Farmers' Market and other efforts that improve access to healthy, affordable food. We build on the strengths of individuals and the community to bring the benefits of gardens, healthy food, and sustainable communities to all. School and community gardens are ideal ways to improve nutrition, enhance neighborhoods, foster education, and bring people back to the "roots" of how to till the soil and make something grow. Spring is here, and we're amidst a season of growing and hopeful activity!
- It's Spring Plant Sale time, and you can see what we've got and pre-order from our Spring Catalog. The Spring Plant Sale will be Friday, May 9, 2-6 pm and Saturday, May 10, 9 am- 2 pm, at the Growing Hope Center at 922 W. Michigan Ave. Many options for Mother's Day gifts!
- The Four Square Society is taking members! It's free, and you can be among the first members of the Four Square Society! Curious? We know you can't wait to learn more...
- The Downtown Ypsilanti Farmers' Market starts May 6! Head over to our Farmers' Market page for applications, info, and a slideshow from the first two seasons! In addition to growers, we're also recruiting musicians, youth, artists, and prepared food vendors. Can't wait to see you all on Tuesdays in May from 2-6 pm! We're looking for community members to place a yard sign advertising the market in their patch of ground each week. Please get in touch if you will!
