Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service- January 16th

Growing Hope is participating in the Martin Luther King Day of Service sponsored by the Corporation for National and Community Service. This year Growing Hope is focusing our project on our nearly renovated Growing Hope Center, 922 W. Michigan Ave. in Ypsilanti.

We have plenty of indoor and outdoor projects from fence building to painting so you can plan to come out regardless the weather. Both groups and individuals are welcome to come and lend a hand.
Two sessions available:
9:00 - 12:00pm & 1:00 - 5:00pm

Winter Education Schedule

Garden Planning-
Thursday, 2/16/12, 6:30-8:00pm

Winter is the perfect season to plan your garden for the spring and summer!  In this workshop we'll discuss how to lay out a garden for maximum production, crop rotation, companion planting, succession planting, and making a seed order. Class cost is based on a sliding scale: $3-15 fee.

Bring your group together and produce food- attend Garden Leadership Training!

Community gardens are a great way to organize groups around food growing, healthy eating, community need, and cooperative work. Perhaps you, your organization, or someone you know has considered starting one - but found yourselves wondering where to begin. If so, Garden Leadership Training may be just what you need to get growing!

Growing Hope's six-session course teaches participants how to organize a group for a common cause and define steps for establishing, maintaining and sustaining a garden. The class starts on Monday, Jan 23rd and there are only a few spots left, so register your group now!
