After-School & Summer Programs
Seed-to-Plate: Students at Ypsilanti Middle School have the opportunity to participate in a weekly hands-on nutrition education after-school cooking and gardening program. At Ypsilanti Middle School, students have the opportunity to learn the art of healthy cooking as well as gain experience working in their plots located in the community garden on school grounds and the greenhouse which sits in their school courtyard. We believe that healthy eating begins with fun, and Seed 2 Plate serves as a rich and interactive setting for kids to learn the joys of cooking and gardening. West Willow Garden Summer Camp: In collaboration with the New West Willow Neighborhood Association and Washtenaw County Parks and Recreation, we work with neighborhood youth to run a nutrition-based summer garden summer program for kids enrolled in the camp in the summer.
